I am a story teller. And I want to tell the story of your love ... and your wedding ... this beautiful chapter in your life ... through professional images on your wedding day.

There are no do-overs on your wedding day. That's why quality counts. And professionalism. And experience. Photography experience. And story telling experience.

Let me tell the story of your love ... contact me to photograph your wedding.

But first, let me share with you some stories here. In words and in the images I captured. I hope they warm your heart.

Meet Miss Mariah Zettler of Edgar, Wisconsin ... an Edgar Wildcat ... and one of my Senior Models! Mariah is a "wild child" ... fun and exciting and just bursting with energy!  I got to meet her when Melissa, one of my other senior models, introduced her to me and suggested she would make an awesome addition to our senior model team for the Class of 2015.  And she was absolutely right!  Mariah infuses an energy into our group photo shoots that is totally contagious and has everyone else laughing and smiling ... and you can very literally see it by the light in her sparkling eyes.  This girl is on fire for life!

In fact, she is soooo active I get a little exhausted just telling you all of the things she is involved in.  At St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Mariah is in youth group and youth choir, sings at mass, and teaches sixth grade catechism.  At Edgar High School, she is in the National Honor Society, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Choir, Spanish Club, and is the President of the Art Club.  She is also on the yearbook, on the prom committee, in softball, and a Big Buddy.

When she is not at church or school, Mariah volunteers at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and works at Country Aire Restaurant washing dishes or bussing tables which she loves because of the people.  “The people I work with are like family,” Mariah says.  Whew!  See what I mean?  Exhausting!  LOL

She says her favorite classes are science, English, and the fine arts … and “My worst is history (sooo boring to me! :zzz)”

Two of Mariah’s passions are music and softball.  In addition to singing, she is able to play at least half a dozen instruments:   “I have played saxophone, clarinet, piano, trombone (for pepping), I can play trumpet a little, and also guitar,” she says.  She loves a wide variety of music, crossing over into multiple genres, but her favorite by far is “country music because there is a song for every emotion,” Mariah explains.  “My favorite artists are Hunter Hayes, Eric Paslay, Cole Swindell, Jana Kramer, and Taylor Swift.”

And about softball?  “I am passionate about softball,” Mariah says.”  I’ve been playing since I was going into third grade and started fast pitch going into seventh grade and have yet to want to stop.  I want to play softball in college and then coach once I graduate (any age level)."  Her passion drives her to continually challenge herself.  "I'm twisting my game up this year by hitting left handed more which takes discipline because I'm naturally right handed," she explains.

Like everything else she does, Mariah has jumped into modeling for my studio wholeheartedly and with a passion.  She loves it!  And that beaming smile of hers is just contagious.  It’s hard to say which she enjoys more—the actual modeling or just being with all the other girls.  She says she loves meeting new friends, and those friendships are incredibly important to her.  Of her friends?  “I can trust them with anything!”

Mariah’s life is in a great place right now with a ton of things to look forward to.  She is excited for this summer, for the warm weather and the activities it will bring.  “I’m going on a mission trip in June and starting a CNA course in July and ending in August,” she says.

And then there are senior pictures!  When asked to rate her excitement about that on a scale of one to ten?  “10!” was her prompt response.  “Tina will do a great job helping me plan everything, and she is wonderful at dealing with my bad sense of fashion and crazy ideas!” she added.  Mariah has already scheduled her senior portrait session for June, and we’ve been brainstorming some great ideas to fully showcase and encompass all of the different aspects of who she is at this point in her life.  You bet we’ll embrace those so-called “crazy ideas!” to get some great images … images that will extend beyond simple portraits to creating ART!

When fall rolls around, Mariah is sooo ready for being a senior.  Senior year will be all about “making memories and my challenging schedule (three college courses and one online course),” Mariah says.  Something tells me she’ll barely come up for air during senior year with all of the things she’s involved in.

Then after senior year, it’s off to college.  “I’m deciding between UW-Oshkosh and UW-LaCrosse,” Mariah says.  She’s debating between physical therapy/kinesiology at Oshkosh or radiation therapy at LaCrosse, but definitely leaning toward a career in the medical field.  On the other hand, “I love to bake and my dream job would definitely be owning a bakery!” she says.  Hmmm.  Sometime tells me even if she follows the medical path her co-workers will be treated to cupcakes fairly frequently.  (Feel free to bring some along to your senior photo shoot, Mariah!)

Some other interesting trivia about Mariah:  “My favorites are the three P’s—Pasta, Pizza, and Peanut Butter.  I watch One Tree Hill, Teen Mom, and replays of college softball whenever I have the chance.  My favorite color is yellow.”  Mariah says she is currently contemplating repainting her room.  And while it is currently yellow on two walls and blue on the other two, she’s now leaning toward three walls in a brighter yellow and experimenting with zebra stripes on the fourth!  “I want to do something bright and fun!” she says.

More fun facts about Mariah?  “I loooove my cheetah print footie pajamas,” she says.  “And my white leopard footie pajamas.”  And while she is on the topic of confidences?  “I used to have an imaginary friend who got blamed for EVERYTHING I did,” she confides.  And “I will dance in front of my friends and family, but I won’t dance at school if I don’t have to.”

Another favorite pastime?  “I like sitting on Pinterest and dreaming of a house designed to pin-point perfection.”  Something tells me she’s probably got a pin on her boards somewhere that features a zebra print wall!

Mariah is such a fun and exciting girl … in really cool and unexpected ways … I just can’t wait for our senior photo shoot … and it’s less than six weeks away!  Yes, this academic year is quickly drawing to a close!  So if you are in the Class of 2015 and you haven’t yet scheduled YOUR senior pictures, CALL ME NOW!!  Let’s get you in for your free planning session and get you scheduled for this summer … trust me, we are gonna have a blast together!  There are actually some brand new things I’ll be unveiling for seniors this year … and by calling now, you’ll get in on all the details before they’re even public knowledge!  So if you want to know those secrets?  CALL ME!!  My number is 715.212.0767 to make it super easy for you.

Hope to talk to you soon, Class of 2015!

Meet Sarah DeLaporte!  Sarah attends Wausau East High School where she is counting down the final weeks of this school year until she can officially declare herself a high school senior.  So for the moment, that means she’s wrapping up her junior year wading through the assignments in math and history, her least favored classes, and relishing the knowledge gleaned in her favorite classes—chemistry and Spanish IB.  In addition to academics, Sarah is actively involved in high school soccer and swim team.

In fact, when she’s not studying, you will often find Sarah in or around the pool.  “I am passionate about swimming,” Sarah says.  And when it comes to competing?  Her number one competitor is herself.  “I put in a lot of hard work and dedication to improve my times,” she says.  In addition to swimming competitively, Sarah works as a lifeguard at the Woodson YMCA during the school year and at the Wausau Pools during the summertime.

Sarah can’t wait for the hot summer sun to emerge from all of this winter weather.  “I can’t wait for the nice warm weather and being able to wear shorts and sandals,” she says.  “I’m [also] really excited to do my senior portrait session this June,” Sarah adds.  How excited?  On a scale of 1 to 10?  “Probably an 11!” she says.

Sarah’s enthusiasm for photography and modeling was one of the reasons I asked her to be one of my senior models for the Class of 2015, and she’s had a blast meeting new girls and making new friends and participating in our models-only photo shoots.  “I like meeting new people and taking pictures with everyone,” she says.  She’s had a chance to meet girls from other high schools and do some fun things together that will go down in her high school memories … like petting a pig!  (See photo below.)

In addition to senior portraits this summer, Sarah is excited to be heading to some awesome concerts.  “This year I’m going to Country USA in Oshkosh to see Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, and Carrie Underwood!” Sarah says.  (Secretly, I’m a little jealous!!  I LOVE country music!)  That’s a big thing we have in common.  Country music is her favorite, and George Strait and Eric Church are two of Sarah’s favorite country artists.  Both of those artists made my favorites list, too.

What are some of Sarah’s other favorites?  Food … portabella mushroom ravioli!  Color … purple!  TV show … American Horror Story

Senior year promises to be an exciting year for Sarah.  “I am looking forward to spending time with my friends at football games in the fall and challenging myself with harder classes,” she says.   And all that studying will be good preparation for what comes after.  “I am going to college after high school to pursue a career in the medical field,” she says.  I have no doubt Sarah will be a success at whatever career she decides to pursue.  Determined and outgoing, she has a bright future ahead of her!

Sarah will also be traveling to Costa Rica in conjunction with the school’s foreign language program next year. With so much to look forward to, this next year is going to fly by FAST!

The count down is on ... summer is almost here!

I'm almost as excited as Sarah!  Senior pictures here we come!!

Meet Melissa Urmanski ... she's an Edgar Wildcat and one of Photography by Tina's Class of 2015 Senior Models! I've known Melissa her entire life ... from adorable cooing baby to toddling two-year-old, threw the tweens and into the teens, and now as she emerges into the incredible young woman she is becoming.  So I was absolutely thrilled when I asked her to become one of my Senior Models for the Class of 2015 and she said yes!

It hasn't always been easy to fit modeling photo shoots into her already packed life, but I'm so glad she has. In her family, Melissa was for years "the quiet one," but now as a senior model, I am privileged to see Melissa's feisty spirit, true radiance, and self-confidence blossom and bloom like a flower in the warm summer sun.  Her personality is growing ever more fun and outgoing with every new opportunity for her to shine.

Melissa has rocked her individual modeling moments and had an absolute blast hamming it up with the other senior girls in the group, as well, enjoying the time spent with her best friend (who is also one of my senior models) and expanding her circle of friends to include the other three girls she met this year from other schools.  She says the best part of modeling is "the practice for my real senior pictures," and I am absolutely looking forward to June when we will embark on a day of fun in the sun to create some of the most amazing senior portraits ever where she will be the absolute star of the show.

Melissa's life is a whirlwind of activity these days, and she is seldom found at home for more than a few minutes between activities.  As a junior at Edgar High School (home of the Wildcats!), she is involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a member of the choir, active in the marching band (she played flute and piccolo in the band until sophomore year and is now a flag twirler in the Color Guard), and she also plays Volleyball on the Varsity team (she was asked to jump up from JV this year due to her amazing skills in the sport!).  She also works part-time at a local grocery store.

Incredibly gifted in the area of music, Melissa currently plays the flute, piano, and piccolo.  (She started taking piano lessons at the age of 9.)  On the off chance that you do find her at home these days, Melissa might be practicing one of her instruments, watching movies with her family or friends, or doing chores on the family's dairy farm.  Or she might be catching up on some of her favorite shows on the DVR ... like Grey's Anatomy and Cake Boss ... or just listening to music which is absolutely one of her greatest passions ... that and the color orange!

This summer when lots of teens will be thinking of nothing but kicking back and relaxing, Melissa is planning to take a CNA class to get a jump start on her career goals.  She will take classes from May through August and return to school as a high school senior in September as an official Certified Nursing Assistant!  (And yes, she intends to continue with Color Guard, volleyball, and her part-time job through the summer as well ... no slacking off for this girl!) After high school, Melissa plans to attend college to get a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and ultimately work as a registered nurse in a hospital birthing center, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), or pediatric department.

Melissa is an inspiration and a joy to be around.  She will make an awesome nurse.  And I cannot wait to see all of the other things this amazing young woman will accomplish in her lifetime.  But first ... we're going to be brainstorming her senior portrait session this week!

Tina

P.S. If you are a member of the Class of 2015, it's time for you to do the same!  Call me and let's set up a visit to plan your incredible senior session and get your appointment scheduled.  715.212.0767  Hope to see you soon!

Breanne Christian is currently a junior at Wausau East High School and is one of my Senior Models for the Class of 2015.  I first met Breanne when a friend of hers hosted a Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party and Photo Shoot for several friends here at the studio about a year ago.  We had sooo much fun doing that and Breanne was a natural in front of the camera, so when I was picking senior models for the Class of 2015, I naturally thought of Breanne right away, and she loved the idea!

As a Senior Model, Breanne has participated in several exclusive photo shoots just for my senior models and met other girls who will also graduate in the Class of 2015, been photographed with them as a group and individually, and is privvy to other fun model-only activities (more of which are still to come!).  In fact, Breanne says that's what being a Senior Model is all about for her:  "My favorite thing about being a senior model is not only the fun photo shoots that we have, but also becoming friends with the other girls."  She's had a chance to meet girls from other schools she might never have encountered otherwise, and they are fast becoming good friends from the time spent together modeling and then connecting on Facebook as well!

Like all of this year's senior models, Breanne's schedule is pretty packed.  Between school where she is taking advanced courses in physics and history and her all-time favorite this year, painting; youth group at church; Key Club at Wausau East; and working part-time as a customer service representative at Eastbay, she doesn't have a lot of spare time.  But when she's not booked with activities, you might find Breanne catching up on the latest episodes of Bates Motel, Teen Wolf, or her very favorite show, American Horror Story with a grilled cheese and some mac & cheese.  (It's the absolute best together, she says, and I've gotta agree that you can never have too much cheese!  We're Wisconsin girls all the way, right, Breanne?!)

Breanne is an outgoing girl with some fun passions ... like the color purple and art of all kinds. (She says she can't wait until her senior year to take a bunch of new art classes!).  "I absolutely love the calming effect of painting and sketching," Breanne adds.

Breanne also loves concerts--especially indie/alternative music (some of her current favorite artists are Coldplay, Phoenix, and Alt-J)--and she's looking forward to three days at Lollapalooza in Chicago.  Travel is also at the top of Breanne's list of things to love, and this summer she will be traveling to France!

It's going to be an action-packed summer that will fly by, so Breanne's individual "official" senior portrait session is already scheduled for June before she jets off to Europe in July.  On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most excited, "I would rate my excitement for my senior portrait session at a 10!" Breanne says.  "I cannot wait to put together outfits and spend a day finding places to take awesome pictures."  I suspect Breanne has some favorite locations in mind already, and I have a few surprises I think she's gonna love up my sleeve, as well.  We are going to have an absolute blast!

Are you on track to graduate with the Class of 2015?  Call me at 715.212.0767 and let's get YOUR senior session scheduled! Great new locations for this summer and some incredible new ideas that will set your images apart from all the rest.

I think there is a little part of me that believes if I live and breathe and talk about senior portraits, then this snow will MELT and spring will actually get here … that we will start SEEING robins in the yard and tulips and daffodils peeking out of receding snowbanks … and then finally we will have GREEN GRASS!  I’m sure you can relate, right?

Oh, we Wisconsinites are tough cookies … we brave these subzero temperatures and windchills of 40 degrees below zero and all this snow.  But this year has been something ELSE!  We’ve broken winter records all over the place … becoming the coldest winter on record in more than 100 years, having the most below zero temps on record since the winter of 1916/1917, getting the most snow for a winter (December-January-February) on record with a total of 64.5 inches of snow (and it ain’t over yet!), and having an AVERAGE winter temperature of just 7.7 bone-chilling degrees (Celsius, so for you folks on the Metric method of measurement, that’s BELOW freezing.  Way below.).

So I don’t think any of you can blame me for dreaming … and I’ll bet I’m not alone in this … as visions of summer fill my senses (yes, I’m leaping straight from spring to summer because it’s bound to be a short spring this year anyway, right?).  I can almost FEEL the sun baking down on my back as I sit at my patio table outside watching Lily play on the grass … and SMELL fresh mowed grass from one neighbor mowing his yard co-mingled with the smell of something cooking on the grill for dinner … and SEE the beautiful vivid colors of grass and flowers in the yard … and HEAR the laughter of children playing in the neighborhood and the barking of our neighbor dogs as they come loping over for a pet and a sniff to see if there will be any treats from the grill for them … and TASTE the piece of buttery grilled chicken skin I just swiped from off the grill as it cooks and the glass of homemade wine in my hand.

Doesn’t it FEEL REAL to you, too?  So anyway … I’m gonna do it.  I’m going to focus on senior portraits and PLAN for warmer weather!  So stay tuned for some awesome posts introducing you to each of my senior models over the next few weeks … as we get ready to JUMP RIGHT INTO SUMMER!!!!
