Life is about the stories we tell. Every story is another page in the book of our lives.

I am a story teller. And I want to tell the story of your love ... and your wedding ... this beautiful chapter in your life ... through professional images on your wedding day.

There are no do-overs on your wedding day. That's why quality counts. And professionalism. And experience. Photography experience. And story telling experience.

Let me tell the story of your love ... contact me to photograph your wedding.

But first, let me share with you some stories here. In words and in the images I captured. I hope they warm your heart.

Two stories speak to me from these images ... the magical storybook narrative I could write from them ... of a little girl in a log cabin discovering Santa arriving with presents, then playing and dancing with him, before she tires and he tucks her into bed before disappearing back up the chimney.

... And the story of a little girl getting her portraits taken with Santa ... she on his lap ... the traditional thing.  And then, when it was done, that little girl asking Santa if he would play trains with her.  And so he did.  He got down on all fours and played trains.  And then she said, "Santa, wanna dance with me?" and he said, "Sure!" ... she told me to turn on the music and turn it up LOUD, and then she showed Santa her best dance moves and told him to do what she did.  And he did.  And they had so much fun.

Then that little girl got playful with Santa and told him, "I'm gonna get you, Santa!" as she came up behind him laughing. Joyously that Santa picked her up and that little girl snatched the hat from the top of his head ... And she laughed and laughed and then put it back on his head in a somewhat haphazard fashion.  Silliness.  Playfulness.  Fun.  Magic.

And then the little girl was tired, and she wanted to lay down on that little chaise in the studio.  And she was cold, so she wanted a blanket.  And Santa got her one, and tucked her in ... on the chaise, and in that special place he holds for her in his heart.

And memories were made ... for Lily and for Santa ... and forever.  And I was so blessed to be the photographer who kept on shooting and captured some of that magic in these images.

Love & Blessings to you all this Christmas!

Tina

P.S.  As I am writing this, I just looked up to see the snow beginning to fall here.  Perhaps there is hope for a white Christmas here after all.  That snow lasted only minutes, but we shall see ... With Christmas magic, anything is possible!

Every now and again, if we keep our minds and hearts open to it and our eyes open to see it, God gives us a miracle.

Cordelia Mae is a miracle baby ... one doctors predicted wouldn't live beyond birth. But yesterday she turned two weeks old and is home with her family surrounded by love and adored by everyone who meets her.

It was my honor to be invited into the home of this family this week, to photograph part of one day in the life of this very thankful and very happy family ... a family blessed by the miracle they and so many who loved them prayed for.

Yes, you will see toys on the floor. You will see a basket of unfolded laundry. You will see odd things lying about. I told them not to move a thing. Their home is lived in and loved in. I wanted this session to be real. Real life.

Because when you are celebrating a miracle, every day and every minute counts, and life is too short to worry about having a perfect house! I photographed this family the way life really is and told them not to change a thing because I was coming. I told them to do what they always do, and in many cases to pretend I wasn't even there.

This was a documentary "day in the life" opportunity ... a chance to capture the little moments in the joy of everyday life ... a life Abby and William have built together over the last 10 years ... a life filled with the laughter and giggles of 5-year-old Auden and 3-year-old Oliver ... and now a life filled with the joy and challenges of their miracle, Cordelia, coming home with them.

This was all about capturing images of life the way it really is for this very special family and celebrating every blessed minute of it ... without apology to anyone ... because, after all, this--Family, Love, Miracles, and Celebrating them and being Thankful for them--is what life is really all about!

I hope they find as much joy in looking at these images ... and the rest of the images they will receive from our time together ... as I did creating them. For me, this was a magical morning filled with reminders of the miracles all around us every day ... and it was such a wonder to be a part of their lives even for a short time!

Tina

P.S.  Yes, we did take a few more "posed" images for their family album, as well.  But not your typical forced "perfect" pictures ... a more relaxed, fun approach to real life.

Did I read that right?  Class of 2015?

Yes, you did!  Photography by Tina is already gearing up for the Class of 2015 in a BIG way.

Now that the senior portrait season for the Class of 2014 is winding down ... just a few photo shoots left, along with touch ups and portrait orders and getting images in to the high school yearbooks ... it's time to head full-speed into planning for the next senior class.

Yes, the members of the Class of 2015 are currently only juniors, but it's not too soon for me to start planning for them at the studio.  I'm scouting brand new locations for fresh images you've never seen before, ordering new lighting for totally different looks, creating more sets, and doing tons of things behind-the-scenes to be sure you have incredible senior portraits.

I'm also looking for Senior Models for the Class of 2015.  Anyone who is a currently a high school junior and on track to graduate with their class in 2015 is eligible to participate, from any area high school.  Just contact me and I'll get you more information ASAP.  And no, you absolutely do not have to be a size 2 to model for Photography by Tina.  This is about and for REAL people with REAL attitudes and an aptitude for FUN!

What do Senior Models do?  Basically, they get a bunch of perks throughout the coming year to create buzz and promote the studio.

This year's program is going to be packed with more fun than ever before, so if you are at ALL interested, don't wait!  The first Senior Model Exclusive Photo Shoot is already being scheduled for October 6, and that's right around the corner!  You can email me at tina@photographybytina.com to learn more, or catch me on Facebook and ask me for more details.  Or pick up the phone and call me!  (715.212.0767)

This year's Senior Model Program will be better than ever:

  • Senior Model Exclusive Photo Shoots in special locations
  • Freebies for Senior Models to share their images with their friends and family
  • Discounts on new portrait products
  • And a lot more!

I'm so excited!

Keep your eyes open for more posts in the coming weeks showcasing some of this year's senior portraits for the Class of 2014, as well.  I'm horrible about keeping up with blog posts during the summer when I'm going about 100 miles per hour trying to get everything done, but now that things are easing up just a bit, I'll be sharing some of this summer's senior portraits here for you to see.

Til then ... if you're thinking about that Senior Model thing and you qualify, don't wait ... contact me!

Tina
