I am a story teller. And I want to tell the story of your love ... and your wedding ... this beautiful chapter in your life ... through professional images on your wedding day.

There are no do-overs on your wedding day. That's why quality counts. And professionalism. And experience. Photography experience. And story telling experience.

Let me tell the story of your love ... contact me to photograph your wedding.

But first, let me share with you some stories here. In words and in the images I captured. I hope they warm your heart.

Meet Sarah DeLaporte!  Sarah attends Wausau East High School where she is counting down the final weeks of this school year until she can officially declare herself a high school senior.  So for the moment, that means she’s wrapping up her junior year wading through the assignments in math and history, her least favored classes, and relishing the knowledge gleaned in her favorite classes—chemistry and Spanish IB.  In addition to academics, Sarah is actively involved in high school soccer and swim team.

In fact, when she’s not studying, you will often find Sarah in or around the pool.  “I am passionate about swimming,” Sarah says.  And when it comes to competing?  Her number one competitor is herself.  “I put in a lot of hard work and dedication to improve my times,” she says.  In addition to swimming competitively, Sarah works as a lifeguard at the Woodson YMCA during the school year and at the Wausau Pools during the summertime.

Sarah can’t wait for the hot summer sun to emerge from all of this winter weather.  “I can’t wait for the nice warm weather and being able to wear shorts and sandals,” she says.  “I’m [also] really excited to do my senior portrait session this June,” Sarah adds.  How excited?  On a scale of 1 to 10?  “Probably an 11!” she says.

Sarah’s enthusiasm for photography and modeling was one of the reasons I asked her to be one of my senior models for the Class of 2015, and she’s had a blast meeting new girls and making new friends and participating in our models-only photo shoots.  “I like meeting new people and taking pictures with everyone,” she says.  She’s had a chance to meet girls from other high schools and do some fun things together that will go down in her high school memories … like petting a pig!  (See photo below.)

In addition to senior portraits this summer, Sarah is excited to be heading to some awesome concerts.  “This year I’m going to Country USA in Oshkosh to see Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, and Carrie Underwood!” Sarah says.  (Secretly, I’m a little jealous!!  I LOVE country music!)  That’s a big thing we have in common.  Country music is her favorite, and George Strait and Eric Church are two of Sarah’s favorite country artists.  Both of those artists made my favorites list, too.

What are some of Sarah’s other favorites?  Food … portabella mushroom ravioli!  Color … purple!  TV show … American Horror Story

Senior year promises to be an exciting year for Sarah.  “I am looking forward to spending time with my friends at football games in the fall and challenging myself with harder classes,” she says.   And all that studying will be good preparation for what comes after.  “I am going to college after high school to pursue a career in the medical field,” she says.  I have no doubt Sarah will be a success at whatever career she decides to pursue.  Determined and outgoing, she has a bright future ahead of her!

Sarah will also be traveling to Costa Rica in conjunction with the school’s foreign language program next year. With so much to look forward to, this next year is going to fly by FAST!

The count down is on ... summer is almost here!

I'm almost as excited as Sarah!  Senior pictures here we come!!

It’s not easy to miss Haley Arndt … her smile is genuine, her eyes lively, and her spirit just a bit playful and mischievous!  So if you’ve encountered Haley at Merrill High School where she is currently a junior and will graduate with the Class of 2015 … or at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where she reads on Sundays, attends confirmation class, and loves to participate in summer camps … or at Dairy Queen where she works part time during the summer dishing up Blizzards and Moo Lattes and Royal Treats, or at Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes where she works during the winter … chances are she’s made a lasting impression.  Once you’ve met Haley and spent time with her, you can’t help but love her.  She’s one of those people that just seem to radiate that special … something.  Difficult to define, but joyful and kind and highly contagious!

If you haven’t already met Haley, let me introduce you to her.  She is one of my Senior Models for the Class of 2015 and has quickly become a friend.  I’m so glad she decided to become one of this year’s models!!

Haley is absolutely ecstatic about becoming a high school senior and all that it entails.  “What I am most looking forward to my senior year is making memories before I go off to college … to last a lifetime,” she says.  “My friends and I will all be going our separate ways after high school, so I just want to have fun and do as many things with them as I can the last year we have together.”

I asked Haley to describe something she is passionate about and she replied, “Just living life and living it to the fullest!  I try to have fun with life and take a few risks.  Being silly and goofy is one of the best things to do with friends.  Yeah, my friends and I might look dumb when we are goofing off, but we have fun and we are making memories!”

Some of those memories have revolved around Haley’s time as a senior model.  “My favorite thing about being a model is that I had the chance to make new friends with the four wonderful ladies I met,” she says.  “I also LOVE getting my picture taken, and it’s always fun to see how the pictures turn out, even if I am doing something goofy in the picture and I look terrible.  Ha ha!”

[I insert my disclaimer here:  Haley has never looked terrible in any of her pictures!]

Other memories revolve around all of the things Haley is involved in at school … the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Her favorite classes in school are art and English.  Her worst?  Chemistry.  “I HATE chemistry,” she says emphatically.  Haley is also involved in the fall play, forensics, Link Crew, Octagon Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Art Club, and Accelerated Art.  Like all of my senior models, she is one busy young lady.

Even at work, Haley is making great memories to last a lifetime.  At the bowling alley she gets to work with her friends.  “We have a blast!” she says.  And while working at Dairy Queen in the summer?  “I love it because—duh!  I get to work with ice cream,” Haley says.  Can’t get much better than that!

Besides serving up frozen treats to all of us DQ lovers this summer, Haley is excited for all the other joys of summer that are just around the corner.  (Yes, despite the piles of white stuff that still surround us to make us doubt it, warm weather, sunshine, and mosquitos will soon be here!)  “I love camping and hiking!” Haley says.  And she hopes to spend some time doing that soon.  “The fresh air and beautiful scenery we see when hiking up in Michigan is spectacular.  Plus being outdoors makes you feel great and it is a great way for my family to bond.”

“I also love hanging out with my friends.  Whether it’s just talking, watching movies, or shopping, we have fun no matter what!" Haley says.

"I also love shopping!" she adds.  "I love trying on different outfits and just looking through the shops to see what they have.”

The latter is helping her to get geared up for her “real” senior portrait session coming up fast in June!  I asked Haley how she would rate her anticipation for her senior session on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being in a coma and 10 being over the moon.  Her answer?  “I am at an 11 for my senior pictures!” Haley says.  “I cannot wait! Like I said before, I LOVE taking pictures and getting my picture taken. I am so pumped!”

You know what?  I am, too!  I absolutely cannot wait for school to get out and for us to hit some new hot spots I have in mind for this year’s seniors and create some awesome images Haley and the other Class of 2015 seniors are going to LOVE!

Come on summer!  We're waiting for you!

Meet Melissa Urmanski ... she's an Edgar Wildcat and one of Photography by Tina's Class of 2015 Senior Models! I've known Melissa her entire life ... from adorable cooing baby to toddling two-year-old, threw the tweens and into the teens, and now as she emerges into the incredible young woman she is becoming.  So I was absolutely thrilled when I asked her to become one of my Senior Models for the Class of 2015 and she said yes!

It hasn't always been easy to fit modeling photo shoots into her already packed life, but I'm so glad she has. In her family, Melissa was for years "the quiet one," but now as a senior model, I am privileged to see Melissa's feisty spirit, true radiance, and self-confidence blossom and bloom like a flower in the warm summer sun.  Her personality is growing ever more fun and outgoing with every new opportunity for her to shine.

Melissa has rocked her individual modeling moments and had an absolute blast hamming it up with the other senior girls in the group, as well, enjoying the time spent with her best friend (who is also one of my senior models) and expanding her circle of friends to include the other three girls she met this year from other schools.  She says the best part of modeling is "the practice for my real senior pictures," and I am absolutely looking forward to June when we will embark on a day of fun in the sun to create some of the most amazing senior portraits ever where she will be the absolute star of the show.

Melissa's life is a whirlwind of activity these days, and she is seldom found at home for more than a few minutes between activities.  As a junior at Edgar High School (home of the Wildcats!), she is involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a member of the choir, active in the marching band (she played flute and piccolo in the band until sophomore year and is now a flag twirler in the Color Guard), and she also plays Volleyball on the Varsity team (she was asked to jump up from JV this year due to her amazing skills in the sport!).  She also works part-time at a local grocery store.

Incredibly gifted in the area of music, Melissa currently plays the flute, piano, and piccolo.  (She started taking piano lessons at the age of 9.)  On the off chance that you do find her at home these days, Melissa might be practicing one of her instruments, watching movies with her family or friends, or doing chores on the family's dairy farm.  Or she might be catching up on some of her favorite shows on the DVR ... like Grey's Anatomy and Cake Boss ... or just listening to music which is absolutely one of her greatest passions ... that and the color orange!

This summer when lots of teens will be thinking of nothing but kicking back and relaxing, Melissa is planning to take a CNA class to get a jump start on her career goals.  She will take classes from May through August and return to school as a high school senior in September as an official Certified Nursing Assistant!  (And yes, she intends to continue with Color Guard, volleyball, and her part-time job through the summer as well ... no slacking off for this girl!) After high school, Melissa plans to attend college to get a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and ultimately work as a registered nurse in a hospital birthing center, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), or pediatric department.

Melissa is an inspiration and a joy to be around.  She will make an awesome nurse.  And I cannot wait to see all of the other things this amazing young woman will accomplish in her lifetime.  But first ... we're going to be brainstorming her senior portrait session this week!

Tina

P.S. If you are a member of the Class of 2015, it's time for you to do the same!  Call me and let's set up a visit to plan your incredible senior session and get your appointment scheduled.  715.212.0767  Hope to see you soon!

I think there is a little part of me that believes if I live and breathe and talk about senior portraits, then this snow will MELT and spring will actually get here … that we will start SEEING robins in the yard and tulips and daffodils peeking out of receding snowbanks … and then finally we will have GREEN GRASS!  I’m sure you can relate, right?

Oh, we Wisconsinites are tough cookies … we brave these subzero temperatures and windchills of 40 degrees below zero and all this snow.  But this year has been something ELSE!  We’ve broken winter records all over the place … becoming the coldest winter on record in more than 100 years, having the most below zero temps on record since the winter of 1916/1917, getting the most snow for a winter (December-January-February) on record with a total of 64.5 inches of snow (and it ain’t over yet!), and having an AVERAGE winter temperature of just 7.7 bone-chilling degrees (Celsius, so for you folks on the Metric method of measurement, that’s BELOW freezing.  Way below.).

So I don’t think any of you can blame me for dreaming … and I’ll bet I’m not alone in this … as visions of summer fill my senses (yes, I’m leaping straight from spring to summer because it’s bound to be a short spring this year anyway, right?).  I can almost FEEL the sun baking down on my back as I sit at my patio table outside watching Lily play on the grass … and SMELL fresh mowed grass from one neighbor mowing his yard co-mingled with the smell of something cooking on the grill for dinner … and SEE the beautiful vivid colors of grass and flowers in the yard … and HEAR the laughter of children playing in the neighborhood and the barking of our neighbor dogs as they come loping over for a pet and a sniff to see if there will be any treats from the grill for them … and TASTE the piece of buttery grilled chicken skin I just swiped from off the grill as it cooks and the glass of homemade wine in my hand.

Doesn’t it FEEL REAL to you, too?  So anyway … I’m gonna do it.  I’m going to focus on senior portraits and PLAN for warmer weather!  So stay tuned for some awesome posts introducing you to each of my senior models over the next few weeks … as we get ready to JUMP RIGHT INTO SUMMER!!!!

The Class of 2015 Seniors Models are officially busting out!  We started our model sessions back in October ... when the weather was warm and yummy with orange pumpkins on the field, ripe red apples on the trees, and the leaves and weeds turning all shades of golden and gorgeous.  Just remembering the sun baking on our backs and all the fun we had reminds me again why autumn is my favorite time of the year.  I love the smells in the air, the breezes in our hair, and the vivid pops of color everywhere!

In the coming weeks, I'll be introducing you to our awesome Class of 2015 Senior Models ... representing several area high schools ... including Merrill High School, Edgar High School, and Wausau East High Schools.

If you can guess the identity of any of these gorgeous girls, pop it into a comment below! Then stay tuned to see if you're right.

In the meantime, while the snow is still on the ground, summer IS coming!  SOOOO ... if you are a member of the Class of 2015, that means it's time for YOU to schedule YOUR senior portrait session!  The first 10 seniors to schedule their senior portrait session for this May or June will get an AWESOME surprise they will absolutely LOVE!  What is it? Be one of the first 10 seniors to schedule and you'll find out! Yep, that means you'll just have to call me to get the details.   715.212.0767    Did I mention it's something you normally have to spend a minimum of $250 just to be eligible to purchase it?  Did I mention you will absolutely LOVE it???  ESPECIALLY if you own a mobile phone or other mobile device ... and that's all I'm gonna say!

More goodies to come very soon!

Tina
